Union Comercio vs Universitario match preview: Eyes on 3 more points in Tarapoto

Universitario will play their 1st road match of the 2023 season in Tarapoto vs Union Comercio. After a strong showing last week that resulted in a 4-0 win over Cantolao, the “U” will seek to add another 3 points to the table.

The U travelled without key players such as Luis Urruti (precaution); Piero Guzman (red card suspension); Jose Lujan, Alfonso Barco, Piero Zevallos, Jose Lopez, and Alexander Succar (injuries). The possible XI that Carlos Compagnucci will utilize are: Carvallo; Cabanillas, Di Benedetto, Riveros (debut), Corzo; Calcaterra, Ureña, Perez Guedes, River, Polo; Valera. New arrival Yuriel Celi could also make his debut as a substitute.

Union Comercio is back from Liga 2 after 4 years by earning promotion the past year. Key players from Union Comercio to watch out is Venezuelan forward Antonio Romero and midfielder Christian Neira. Like most newly promoted teams in Peru, they don’t have the offensive resources to score and win matches easily. Universitario must strike first early in order to get the full confidence in the match. They did not do so vs Cantolao last week and had trouble in the 1st half. They had to wait in the 2nd half in order for Cantolao to crumble. An early goal plus making Comercio to commit turnovers is a a must do for today’s match.

Kickoff vs Union Comercio will be at 1:30pm ET, 10:30am PT. The match recap will be posted following the match while Lolo Worldwide will be every Friday giving you a brief recap reaction of the match.
